Our Statement of Faith

1. We believe in the absolute authority and accuracy of the sixty-six books of the Bible. We believe that every word was breathed by God as they were originally written, and that the Bible is our only rule for faith and practice. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21; Matthew 5:18)

2. We believe that there is only one God. That He created, preserves and rules all that exists. We believe that His holiness and love are perfect. We believe that His wisdom and power have no boundaries. We also believe that the “ONE God” has made Himself known to man in three persons; i.e. as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy. 6:4; Nehemiah 9:6; Isaiah 45:18, 21; 1 John. 4:16-18; Matthew 28:19)

3. We believe that Jesus Christ is the only Son of God and that it has always been and always will be this way. We believe that He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born in the flesh to a virgin named Mary. We also believe that Jesus is truly God and man and that he is the only one who can stand between and bring peace between man and God. (Matthew 1:18, 20, 23; Luke 1:35; John 1:1, 2, 14; 8:58; 14:9; 1 Timothy 2:5; Colossians 1:14-18; 2:9)

4. We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, whose ministry is to convict the world of sin and of righteousness and of judgment, to regenerate the unbelieving, and to seal, sanctify, teach and comfort those who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that the Holy Spirit makes believers of repentant sinners, baptizes each into the body of Christ at the time of new birth, assures them of heaven, and by His indwelling enables Christians to live a godly life. It is the privilege and duty of every believer to be constantly controlled by the Spirit The Holy Spirit indwells every believer at the time of salvation unto the day of redemption, gifting each for Christian service. We believe that our sovereign God bestows spiritual gifts as He wills in every age for the ministry and perfecting of the Church. (1 Corinthians 12:4-7; John 3:3, 7; 16:8; 14:6; 1:3; Romans 8:9, 12; 12;1 Corinthians 3:16; 12:4-13; 14:6-12; Ephesians 1:13-14; 5:18; 3:16)

5. We believe that man was created in the image of God by direct creation and that he sinned and thereby incurred both physical and spiritual death; thus, we believe that all men by nature and by choice are sinners} and, apart from Christ, shall be forever separated from God. (Genesis 1:26; 2:17; Ezekiel 18:20a; Romans 6:23)

6. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a sacrifice in our place, that all who believe on Him are made righteous on the basis of His shed blood. (1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Rev. 1:5)

7. We believe that salvation is by grace through faith, not of works, and that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior are born again of the Holy Spirit, thereby becoming children of God. We believe in the eternal security of the believer. (Ephesians 2:8-9; John 3:3-7; 10:27-29; Romans 8:28-30; 10:9-10)

8. We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, and His ascension into heaven, and in His present ministry there for us as High priest and Advocate. We believe in the personal, visible, premillennial return of the Lord Jesus Christ for His church, and His coming in glory to set up His kingdom upon the earth. (Acts 1:8-11; Hebrews 4:14-16; Titus 2:13; 1 Thessalonians 4:13, 14; Revelation 19:11-16; 20:1-15)

9. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting conscious blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost. (Matthew 25:31-32, 46; 1 Corinthians 15:20-24; 2 Corinthians 5:8; Revelation 20:12-15)

10. We believe that there are two ordinances of the church: The Lord’s Table and the Believer’s Baptism. that the Lord’s Supper is symbolic of Christ’s broken body and shed blood. We believe that the Lord’s Supper is to be partaken of only by Christians in remembrance of the suffering and death of our Lord Jesus and in anticipation of His soon coming again. We also believe that its observance must be preceded by faithful self-examination. (Luke 22: 19-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-30). We believe that God’s Word commands every believer to be baptized and that the only Scriptural mode is immersion in water. Though Baptism has no saving merit, it shows forth as a solemn and beautiful symbol the believer’s faith in, and union with, the crucified, buried, and risen Savior. (Acts 8:38; 18:8; Romans 6:3-5).
